4 famous waterfalls in lam dong province


Well-known for either great legendary or unspoiled and magnificent beauty, Cam Ly, Preen or Dalanta waterfalls are among the top destinations for tourists when come to Lam Dong Province.

Cam Ly waterfall

Unlike other waterfalls usually associated with romantic love stories, Cam Ly contains the appreciation of the people in a village belonging to a head of the tribe named K’Mly. Over a long time and according to the pronunciation of people in other tribes, the name of this waterfall is incorrectly called Cam Ly. Besides, there is a supposition that Cam Ly has the origin from Sino-Vietnamese. In which, the word “Cam” means sweet while the meaning of the “Ly” is inner absorption.

Preen waterfall

Situated at the beginning of Preen mountain pass, Preen waterfall looks like a welcome gate which is given by nature. In the late of the summer, the “water wall” of this fall appears to be a woeful and majestic song; in which, the background vocal is the layer of water vapor making visitors keep their coats tightly.

Usually, there are two ways for visitors discovering Preen fall. The first one is to walk along the bridge above the stream to admire beautiful scenes, and the other one is to sit in the suspension cable passing across the waterfall. Each way will bring the tourists different amazing experiences. When visiting Preen, besides contemplating the fall, large pine hill, visitors also have a chance to enjoy tasty dishes, such as snakehead gruel.

Dalanta waterfall

Dalanta waterfall is located 5km far away from the center of Da Lat city which has been used and developed since 2000. This waterfall attracts visitors for its limpid water flowing down the seven-layer mountain and strikes the stones bubbling the water up to all directions. Coming here, in addition to admiring the fall, tourists also have a chance to join in adventure games, such as crossing the waterfall or climbing up the waterfall.

Dambri waterfall

The word “Dambri” in K’Ho means waiting. This waterfall relates to a sweet legendary about the faithful heart the young girl gives to the man she loves.

This is the highest fall in Lam Dong province with the height of over 40m creating two superb high and low flow streams. There are three ways to conquer the fall. In which, the first one is to walk in about 138 footsteps; the second one is to go by elevator, and the last one is to experience strong feeling by chute-the-chute which is 1,650m in length.

On sunny days, visitors can discover the beauty of primeval forests; join in big games or camp-fire. However, on rainy days, nothing is better than sipping a glass of hot coffee, admiring the layer of fog which looks like a thin blanket covering the whole forest and listening to lyric songs.
